There are times when I change a mobile phone or switch my SIM cards into another phone, then I have to re-configure the phone settings all over again. Configuring a network provider’s additional services like MMS, GPRS, 3G, mobile internet, and other stuff like that. And every time I configure my device, I have to look for the settings at their website, which I may add, a little frustrating. Some sites are easy to navigate, but some are like a puzzle maze. So without further ado, I present to you mobile users here in the Philippines, the direct page where you can find the configuration settings for your network provider.
To do an automatic configuration on your Globe SIM-powered phone:
Send GO [handset model] to 2951
Example #1: GO N3650
(if you are using a Nokia 3650)
Example #2 GO SONY ERICSSON P990i
(if you are using a Sony Ericsson P990i)
*For Nokia 6220, 6600, and 6820, text GO (handset model),,1234 and send to 2951. Make sure to type in the two commas before the 1234 PIN.
*Enter 1234 when asked for PIN to save settings.
*Regular text messaging charges will apply.
To get the list of compatible handsets:
Send NOKIA to 2365
Send ERICSSON to 2365
Send SAMSUNG to 2365
*Just replace the brand name with your mobile phone brand
The “Sony Ericsson P990i” example above is my phone, I’ve tried it and it works, also just as I was updating (Sep.14.2010) this post I tried sending just GO to 2951 and it also works. I’ve received again my phone configuration settings. I think Globe can now recognize the handset brand/model you are using.
If you can’t configure your Globe handyphone using the automatic settings, try the manual configuration found at the Globe Telecoms official website.
To activate and download 3G/GPRS/MMS settings on your SMART cellphone:
SET [handeset model] send to 211.
Example: SET N6630
(if you are using a Nokia 6630 handset)
*Save both MMS and GPRS settings upon download
To get the list of handset models for a particular brand:
SET [brand] to 211
To get a list of supported SMART handsets:
SET LIST to 211
To do a manual configuration, head over to the Smart Communications GPRS/MMS Settings webpage to configure your mobile phone.
To do an automatic configuration on your Sun Cellular mobile phone:
ACTIVATE send to 2300
You can also call their customer support hotline to do a manual activation
Dial 200 on your phone
You can also visit the Phone Configuration Guide at the Sun Cellular website to do manual GPRS/MMS configuration. When selecting a phone model and brand, you will be prompted to download a .xls (Microsoft Excel) file which contains the configuration settings.

That settings depends on the network provider you use. May I ask what network is your new SIM card?

Hi, could anyone help me with my k530i? I already save the setting for the WAP,MMS, and 3G of GLOBE but still i cannot access the internet. I checked the signal and has a 3G icon on it.

I think when using Globe SIM, even when you’ve already set the MMS/GPRS settings, they will still send you a auto setup message that will configure your SIM to your mobile phone.

Try resetting your phone’s settings to its default value, or try changing the SIM card.

If you are using Globe, they will still send you your mobile phone’s configuration even if you’ve already configured the settings.
On Smart, they will automatically send the settings after sending an SMS to 211.
Also make sure the the MMS settings of the person you are sending the message to can receive MMS.

Try setting again the configuration to your phone and try using 3G. Also I suggest connecting through TIME mode para makatipid ka.
I think Globe will send you your phone’s configuration even after you’ve already configured it. Try connecting again or using MMS .

I have a problem with my samsung corby. First I have downloaded the GPRS, WAP and MMS settings via texting ACTIVATE to 2300. The Internet and MMS did not work even though I installed the settings, it kept on telling me “Unexpected Failure” everytime I try to browse the internet or send a MMS. I visited Sun’s website and downloaded the manual instructions and followed it to the letter. Still nothing happened.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

im getting tired of it.
i have a Sun postpaid plan, but still my internet is not working.
already sent ACTIVATE to 2300, confirmed that my SIM is GPRS activated, but didn’t receive the configuration for my phone Samsung GT-C3303 3K.
i manually configured the settings, making sure that all of the required fields are correct, but still when i tried to access the internet, “Network Error”.
all i want to do is to acces Facebook Zero on my phone because its for free.

Hi, you posted that you are using a postpaid plan. If that is the case, your SUN should be already activated, if not, call their support hotline since you are a SUN subscriber.

Hi, I’m not familiar with the unit you are using. But my guess is that you’ve entered an invalid keyword, or the model you are using is not yet supported.

7. On the ACCOUNT NAME and type MYGLOBE CONNECT (small caps)
8. on DATA BEARER and select PACKET DATA
9. choose BEARER SETTINGS
10. select PACKET DATA ACCESS POINT and type http://WWW.GLOBE.COM.PH then click OK.
11. choose NETWORK TYPE and select IPv4

Hi, try calling your mobile carrier’s customer support.
Based on previous comments here, most people have problems configuring LG brand phones.

Hi! I can’t activate the gprs of my smart new sim. I already tried sending SET N6300 to 211 and GPRS ON to 333 and i have already received the smart settings. But then, i can’t still access my internet on my phone.. I bought my smart sim card last month from a mall, my # prefix is 0999xxxxxxx.. I think its d new sim of smart.. I already tried using other smart sim w/ my phone,and it is working.. I only have a problem w/ that 0999 sim.. I hope some1 can help me, thanks!

I’m guessing that maybe the case. Try calling smart customer support for inquiries regarding the new prefix number.

Im using a Nokia N82 black, SMART BUDDY SIM and all MMS/3G/GPRS settings are downloaded and stored. 3G works finde, i can send emails etc. but I cant send MMS.
My phone is trying to send the MMS but after a while it shedules the MMS to be resend but then the same story again. I CANT GET IT SENT
Any help here would be highly appreciated.
p.s. anybody knows a SMART BUDDY service email address???

finally got internet access! The trick is NOT to ask Smart or the telcos to configure the phone for u. Configure it yourself!
My problem now is that i could not download anything as it keeps on saying insufficient memory. I have 2 GB mSD. Can anybody help? Thanks.

wala akong masyadong experience sa China phone, pero na try mo na po baguhin yung settings para sa storage, gawin mo munang phone memory then try mo ulit, then i switch back mo sa memory card.
i test mo rin po yung mSD kung ok at walang sira.
