About
Welcome to Eternalmoonlight.net you are viewing version 3 of the site, launched last April 11, 2007.
This blog site is owned and maintained by Ruben Ryman Galang. His first name came from his dad while his second name is an anagram of his mother’s name. He spent his elementary and high school years at St. Francis Divine College. He finished B.S. in Computer Science at AMA University Fariview branch (formerly AMA Computer College) batch 2003. A former computer programmer, now a web developer and designer (still practicing on the designing part). He currently lives in Metro Manila, Philippines.
An avid computer gamer, who loves adventure, strategy, role-playing, and racing games. Interested in puzzle games since he was a kid. Loves to watch movies (US films) and listening to music. Also loves anime and j-doramas, and Japan in general.
When he was in high school, he became interested in computers and programing. He was able to hack open simple programs, specially games (DOS games back then) so he can cheat by modifying the values of his character using a hex editor. The first ever game program he created was an electronic version of digit. It is a local gambling game that uses a paper bill wherein the players chose 3 positions from 1st to 6th. Then they check the paper bill if he/she has the highest total amount than the position not chosen.
In the late 90’s he saw a news report at a local TV channel about a collectible card game that is most shunned by religious groups because they said it was created by the devil. Because of that news he introduced Wizard of the Coast’s Magic: The Gathering in his school during his high school years. He bought a pack of cards, created a deck, practiced playing it by himself, then taught it to his friends, and his friends taught it to their friends, and so on and so forth. Thus card game tournaments, and massive card confiscations by school authorities became rampant in their school.
In the early 2000, popular online games reached the shores of the Philippines. One of these games is the MMORPG Ragnarok Online, from the country of Korea. After playing the game for almost a year, he got tired and became busier with the game called ‘real life’. That was when he started studying about bots. Automated programs that play your character for you, thus you were allowed to study, work, eat, sleep, while your character continues to acquire items and level up. Using the tantra, “learn more by teaching others”, he sets out and created a web forum in which he aimed to spread the word and teach the way of the bots in RO. The initial ProBots forum was a failure. But in his second attempt, and with the help of the friends (admins/mods) he gathered from various other forums, Darkmoon (techie.sytes.net) was born. Techie is now, but a shadow of Darkmoon. Almost 3 years have passed, and Darkmoon (darkmoon.ath.cx), the official local support forums for Openkore, still lives. His forum handle is SuperNoob.
The dark side of the force is truly strong in this one.
That wasn’t a nice into ^_^
Anyway, as a newblogger (newbie blogger), I’ll try to post some interesting stuff in this blog. I still haven’t decided yet on a particular subject or the particular audience I want to target. The sole reason I created this blog is to share to others what I know and discover. Through time, and enough practice, I might be able to find a true purpose for this blog.
One other thing, I’m neither a writer nor very proficient in English. So expect misspelled words and grammatical errors. If you are having headaches reading my posts, either stop for a while and read a book or something, or quit bashing your head against the monitor because of my posts.
I also have another blog at Tambayan.ph where you can find posts about gadgets, computers, mobile phones, and other stuff.
Users can interact with the site by posting relevant comments on each of the posts. They don’t need to register to post a comment. Take note however that if you posted a comment with too many links, it will be blocked by a spam blocker. The site owner also has the right to remove comments that are deemed not fit for the site.
