Iron Man revisited
Last weekend, I finally got a chance to watch Iron Man, again. It is the 2nd movie I watched twice in a theater, the other one was Transformers last year. I contributed another 110 pesos to the already $100+ million gross on the first week opening of the movie. And… I finally got to see the bonus clip after the credits. But as I got this news this morning, I missed this one…

This is the part where Pepper walks in while Tony Stark is removing the armor from his body. Can you see Captain America’s shield behind him? Sources says that it isn’t confirmed by Marvel yet, while others says what fans would think if Tony Stark is the inventor of Captain America’s shield.
We can see the Marvel Universe characters coming together in this movie. For those who already watched this movie, and for those who haven’t here are a few things you should notice (a summary recap from my previous post), aside from the Cap’s shield above. I’ve arranged the list in order of appearance
- James Rhodes (Terrence Howard), the military guy, and Tony’s closest friend is actually the man behind War Machine. The black/silver armor that looks like Iron Man. Its got more weapons, and is actually heavier and a little bit bulkier than Iron Man’s mark 3 armor. “Next time baby…” Can we expect another movie starring War Machine?
- The terrorist group is named as the Ten Rings. One of the original arch enemy of Iron Man was Mandarin who holds the mystical ten rings of power. Any relation?
- The agent guy who keeps bugging Pepper and Tony stark is a member of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Espionage Logistics Directorate, or famously known as S.H.I.E.L.D. The agency group controlled by the United Nations (in other stories, U.S.) who sometimes employs super heroes and villains alike to combat powerful threat.
- Stan Lee, co-creator and founder of Marvel Comics made another cameo. This time he was mistaken by Tony Stark as Hugh Hefner (founder of Playboy). You can see him surrounded by girls, after which Tony greeted him.
- In case you didn’t know the name of the villain on the last part of the movie, his name is Iron Monger. The billionaire industrialist Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) was the first one to use that name.
- And the bonus clip after the credits, showing Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) one of the top agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. talking to Tony Stark about the Avengers initiative.
And for the other upcoming Marvel films on my next post.
