Some interesting things

Here are some interesting things worth reading…

  • If you’ve been reading my blog since last year, you’ve might came across my post regarding lucid dreams. Well, for a dream to become lucid, you’ll just have to realize in your dream that you are dreaming. Your conscious should kick in telling you that this is not real and you can pretty much do what you want. Here is an interesting article regarding lucid dreams.
  • I’ve been trying this for a couple of times, and with different kinds of person. It is called ‘eye language‘ and it will tell you what the person’s intentions are or what they are actually trying to say. It’s not only about how the eyes move from left to right, or up and down, but also how the pupil resizes. You can either tell if the person is lying or telling the truth, or in the case of pupil size, if he/she is interested in you.
  • In the early 90’s there was actually a breakthrough invention that could have been used generally today, it was called Starlite. The substance is a plastic that can withstand up to 10,000°C so virtually it’s heatproof. Plastic that don’t melt quickly? Well there are a lot of ‘conspiracy’ stories about it. It has been said that the US and UK government deemed Starlite classified. Whatever the reason, a heatproof plastic is quite interesting.
  • Lichens. It is one organism that can survive almost anywhere, even outer space. Lichens is a parasite that uses other organism as a host to survive. Although when you hear the word parasite, you think of something negative. But lichens actually cooperate and form a bong with the host it is attached to.
  • A person needs at least 8 hours of sleep a day, that’s what most people believe. Most people think of this as sleeping for 8 hours straight through the night (day, if you work on night shift). Although it’s not a common practice, more and more people try polyphasic sleep. You sleep for a couple of hours per day, at regular intervals, while still keeping you alert. It also gives you additional hours awake. One form of this is the Uberman’s sleep wherein a person sleeps 20 minutes every 4 hours. For example, one might take naps at 2:00, 6:00, and 10:00 (a.m. and p.m.). If the naps each last 20 minutes, you get 2 hours of sleep per day; if they last 30 minutes, you get 3 hours of sleep. If you want longer working hours throughout the day, you could try practicing having naps at specific intervals. It will still keep you awake, and it will just adjust your 8 hours straight into short naps.
