Nana-Anniversary
It’s been a while since I wrote personal stuff here, and since this is still a personal blog (and is now turning into a repository of informations, technological ideas, random stuff, and all things geeky) I’ll squeeze in a few personal related posts. You can just skip this post if your not interested. Hehe.
To start off, today the 18th of February 2008 is the 7th anniversary of my girlfriend and me. That means we’ve known each other for more than 7 years. We usually celebrate our anniversary (and monthsarry) on the 17th of the month, but the official date is 18. Take note however, that we are not married yet, anyway I’ll give you a quick flashback.
Start flashback…
I’ve known Joanne since late 2000. It so happens that I requested to be her escort on the day of her debut birthday which was February 17, 2001. On that day, I planned to ask her to be my girlfriend. It was a busy night and I couldn’t find a proper time to tell her. So up until the celebration was over, I didn’t got a chance. It was already late at night when I called her over the phone, and asked her to meet up the next day. At the mall, we ate lunch and watched a movie. If I remember correctly, which I hope I did or else my girlfriend might scold me, the movie we watched at that time was Cast Away (Tom Hanks). That was the time I asked her if she could be my girlfriend. Although there are still a few complications (actually one) to that arrangement, in which unfortunately I can’t reveal to anyone because only the two of us knows about that. And no, it’s not about us, it’s about somebody else.
… end flashback
And about the title, nana is Japanese for seven. In native Japanese it is nanatsu and in Sino-Japanese its nana or shichi. Shichi is seldom used because shi means death.

Happy Anniversary sainyo! Belated!
