Random Thoughts #1

This post is a start for a series of posts that are… random… or anything that comes into mind. I was thinking of a post like this last night, while I was on a long journey back home in a bus. Although I’m tired and somewhat sleepy, random thoughts filled my mind. Here are some that I remembered since last night:
- If you are looking for cheap but high quality (small) anime figurines here in the Philippines, visit Toy Kingdom (in SM malls). Comic Alley is a good anime shop, but Toy Kingdom has much more figurines on sale than the former. While Comic Alley is usually filled with “common” animes like Naruto, Bleach, Tsubasa Chronicles, and endless hordes of Pokemon; Toy Kingdom has those anime which are not usually popular except for those true anime fans (and otakus).
- And while on the subject of toys. Why do they call those toys that you need to assemble first then put it up in your display case, 4D? I mean it’s just 3D right? Why the 4D title?
- Here in the Philippines, and contrary to popular belief, the fastest land based transportation (except trains) are the ordinary buses. Not those air conditioned ones, but those with open windows and the doors are at the middle part of the body. Mixed emotions and feelings are usually encountered while riding this land (to air) based transport. I’ve seen smiles on peoples faces that are on the rush to get to their destination. I’ve seen tears by an old lady at the back fearing for her life to end in this thrill-of-a-ride transportation. I’ve also seen angry men at the front shouting out loud that they have to get off the bus because their destination has a already passed a couple of blocks away. So if you are in a hurry and are passing through commonwealth or EDSA, just hop in an ordinary bus and be prepared to be blown away.
- As a side note for above. I only ride ordinary buses in ‘extreme’ situations, like when it’s already early dawn. Because I don’t really like dirt in my face and pollution in my lungs.
- A couple of years ago jeepney fares are much cheaper than aircon buses. Now it’s almost opposite. An example would be from SM Fairview (Quezon City) to Pleasant Hills Subd. (Bulacan). In a regular jeepney you pay 11 pesos, but in an aircon bus you only pay 10 pesos. One peso cheaper, with added aircon for a cool ride.
So there. This is the first of many randomness you may encounter in this blog.
