My nephew asked me to promote this music video, he and his friends made. It’s a song by Toto titled, I’ll Be Over You. The video is beautifully choreographed and edited, with exact lip-sync to the tune. They created this video for their school.

Belldandy on my desktop

Belldandy is a common sight in my desktop. From the moment I login, to the time I use some of the softwares installed in my PC. But how many Belldandy are there in my computer? Let’s see…

First is my login screen which has both (admin & guest) a Belldandy face icon. My PC name is Belldandy (seen at lower left).

My desktop on my administrator account. Neat and clean, and without any desktop icons.

My desktop on my guest account. Using a Windows Vista theme with an open Start menu.

The System Properties on My Computer, customized with a Belldandy image. I removed my registration info along with my system specs (for privacy).

And now for those softwares with customizable backgrounds and skins. Starting off with Media Player Classic, my alternative media player. It loads faster and uses less memory than the standard Windows Media Player. You can change the default background of MPC.

My download manager, FlashGet also has a customizable background. I use a download manager when downloading a lot of stuff from a specific website. I can leech all the links quickly. Like those PDF graphic novels of Heroes at Wikipedia.

My outdated Nero (I think it’s version 6), customized with a lovely background. Nero is my primary DVD/CD burning software. I also use it to create clips of videos or slide shows of photos.

And finally the most used software on my PC, the ultimate media/audio player, Winamp. I found this Belldandy/Ah! My Goddess skin a long time ago, back when Winamp was still version 3. I forgot where I got it, but I use it until now.

That’s all i can find on my desktop, and it doesn’t include the customized screen saver with lots of Belldandy pics. But enough of that. Next time I will show you Belldandy outside of my PC.

Advertisements makes a software free, but it is also annoying. With a few tweaks and hacks we can remove ads from our favorite Yahoo! Messenger.

To disable/remove ads on Yahoo! Messenger 9

  1. Run Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
  2. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager\Locale
  3. In the right pane, locate a value named Enable Messenger Ad with default value as 1. Set the value to 0.
  4. Restart Yahoo! Messenger 9.0.

I just created an account in Imeem today. I’ve known about this service for quite a while now, but back then I didn’t have any reason to register there, that is until now. While in the process of completing my profile, I came across the “find friend” feature of the site. At first I thought, like other social networks, I’ll just login using my email account to import all the contacts from that address book to Imeem. But unfortunately you have to do it the semi-manual way. You have to export your address book contact then import them to Imeem. Most of my contacts are stored in my Yahoo! email, so I need to export it to a CSV file, then upload it to Imeem.

Here’s how I exported my Yahoo! mail contacts (address book) to a readable CSV file.

  1. Select mail options from the options menu located at the upper right corner of your Yahoo! mail.
  2. On the next page, click on Contacts Options. After you click on this, a new window will appear. This will open the address book portion of Yahoo!
  3. On the upper right corner of this page, you will see an import/export link. Click on it.
  4. Lastly, scroll near the lower portion of the page. Click on the “Export Now” button at the right side of the text “Yahoo! CSV:” Save the file on your computer.

That’s it.

You can now use this file on other websites that require you to import a CSV file. Like the one on Imeem.

Friendster navigational links

Arguably, Friendster is one of the leading social networks here in the Philippines. I said arguably because, there are more and more using other social networks like Multiply, MySpace, Facebook, and Hi5. I’ve been a user of Friendster since 2003, and has 3 active accounts. You can find one of my account at my profiles.

Although I log-in to my Friendster account at least once or twice a day, I never did use most of its features. Even if I have been using it for a long time, I still get frustrated with its navigational links. There are times that I’m dependent on the auto-links that shows up in my home profile. Like when you have a new message or an incoming birthday from one of your friend.

I have to admit, the layout of the navigational links in Friendster is not organized, and a new user can easily get lost. So for those who are still not familiar with Friendster, here are some most used navigational links around the website. If you are using a tabbed browser (like Firefox), just open a new tab and login to your Friendster account. Then while still logged in, click or just copy/paste the URL found here on the address bar on the window where you logged in to your Friendster. I also included a small note on some features, because there are still some who doesn’t know what it’s for.

I hope this navi-guide can help those who get lost around Friendster. Oh and if you are planning to drop by a testi/comment on my Friendster page, and you are using an image, I suggest you use one that has a maximum of 400px (or less) as width. I don’t want a horizontally long image comment because it distorts my profile, and it will get deleted.
